Eric,
The reason I can't run LSB is because I loose "Click Tune Offset"
option that is only available in DIGU or DIGL. It's because of Click
Tuning and this offset that makes this rig really shine for RTTY. Now
that I know that there is no gain while in DIGL I will try to just crank
up the audio input. My concern is that my audio input may distort or
flat top at that high of a gain setting. I'll put a scope on it and take
a look.
I feature that I believe is really needed is an option for the freq.
readout set at "Mark" freq instead of Carrier freq. It is by convention
that RTTY uses "Mark" freq. instead of carrier freq. All the DX spotting
clusters use the "Mark" freq. Both my 7800 and 9000D display the "Mark"
freq. When I set the rig using my logging/spotting software the
SDR-1000 is always off by 2125Hz which is not good when your contesting.

I misspoke on the VAC TX Gain. That is only if you are using VAC. In
the
DIGL/U modes, that is the only gain control as all gain processing is
turned
off for flat response of digital mode signals on transmit. It sounds
like
you're not getting enough signal to noise out of your other soundcard to
drive the transmitter without help from the software. What keeps you
from
just running in LSB mode?
