The default should be the filesystem provider. Basically what happened is
when I overhauled the config files I missed a bunch of entries that should
have been there. I've got that fix made - I'll see if the code is in a good
state to check in later today. 

It's certainly a bug that it defaults to SQL Server. But are you saying that
it crashes when you hit "next"? That would imply that you're trying to
create a namespace that lives in a SQL database. Is that what you're trying
to do, or would you rather create a namespace that lives on the disk? If
you're trying to create a namespace that lives in SQL, you're still going to
have problems even if the default is different. 

FYI, we recommend that people use the filesystem store unless they have a
really good reason to prefer the SQL database.
