A quick check on my small Wiki shows improvement on the RecentChanges
page (LastModified.aspx) where the first pass is 1670ms and all
subsequent passes are 660ms.

None of my sorts are big enough to see any other difference, except
about a 50ms increase in overhead due to the additional checks for
cached results.
