Well, our needs are very simple, and likely any package will have it's share of headaches. I'd prefer just working through the metakit issues rather than picking another package and stumbling through that for a while. Metakit does what it does very well, and gives us quick access to data without having to spend multiple seconds at startup loading it all in memory.
