This is my experience, too. When I get changes from 
various people, now, who do not have CVS access, I use 
FCompare. This program lets me see changes side-by-side 
and to choose which lines I want to accept. Usually, 
people are using an older version than what I have as 
current, so the changes have to be made carefully and 
selectively. Plus, I know exactly what is going in there.
