Yes, that is exactly the effect I was speaking about. If you want to
do good (= better than 3D) 2D jobs, you have to hand optimize them for
each resolution.

Also, even the modders don't do many 2D cockpits anymore IMHO. OTOH,
there are several people (mainly professional 3D artists working in
their free time) making full 3D cockpits for Il-2 in Max. If they
agree for us to use them, then we would have the 3D model and would
"only" need to connect it to the code (animation of levers, clickable
areas etc). While the Il-2 models all come from a certain area :-/,
there should be other people doing the same fpor other sims.
