OK, we grabbed the latest FGFS CVS files and merged in ours and problem is 
gone.  So somehow we were out of sync, even though we thought we had a CVS 
snapshot from 4/7/02.

So .... next time we think code other than ours is amiss, we'll grab the 
latest snapshot, and test it first.
