_Personally_ I am not interested in following the industry standard,
if I feel it detracts from our reconfigurability and flexibility.

1. An industry standard is usually codified legacy decisions
2. Most industry simulator products are not massively reconfigurable
3. Prior discussion showed that CG based coordinates would impact our code
4. Aircraft manufacturers do not use CG based axes for engineering data

Of course, I'm not the person writing the code and making the decision...
