Are you referring to this message (running automake):

    simgear/xml/Makefile.am: INCLUDES must be set with `=' before using `+='

or this one (running autoconf):

    configure.in:21: error: possibly undefined macro: AC_SG_SET_COMPILER

or both?

Do you mean it will configure OK if we ignore them?  Or that they would be harmless if 
they didn't cause autoconf to choke?  I'm pretty sure we can't ignore both of these: 
the process does fail.  But if we can ignore one of them we can concentrate our 
efforts on the other.
