And the length of people is also measures in feet, isn't it? At least in New Zealand it's the same. But that'll go away eventually. In Germany is the generation of my parents still asking for a "pound" (= 500g = 1/2 kg) of something in the shop. But the people of my generation is using the official units. Anyway to come back to the thread: isn't your story a proof that SI should be used?
