I just discovered that (without your wheel-locking modification) the
spin, both its direction and velocity, depends on the time spent
between the engines being started. If I start both within a second, I
can get the aircraft off the ground, playing around with the rudder to
keep the wings off the ground. It still spins, but at least it will
reach stall speed with full flaps (somewhere in the ocean, usually,
off KSFO).

Yes, but I've flown others in M$ FS2k, and they are tricky, but not
impossible to handle.

It might be the hard landing, I'm not experienced enough to tell. I'm
not getting a bounce though, the plane sticks to the runway every
time, at whatever speed I use (even 160kt with 0 flaps). The higher
the speed, the smaller the increase in AOA on touchdown, though (for
higher speeds, the tailwheel doesn't touch down straight away).
