The gear sound is working now in my copy (can't remember if cvs is working or not). For the most part it gets drowned out by the sound of the engines. Not sure if on the "real thing" it can be heard from the cockpit or not. It probably cannot be heard from the outside during takeoff. On landing approach it might be more audible with the thrust at or close to idle.
