Some time ago I did a small Linux system, designed to run from a 16 MByte
read-only medium (flash disk, network, whatever you want). It would not be
difficult to put FlightGear on top.

The difficulty is to detect the necessary hardware connected to the machine,
especially considering the graphics board. Does anyone have a link
describing hardware autodetection on Linux ? I don't ....
