My hunch is that this bug showed up when the JSBSim fuel quantities were
getting overridden by the FlightGear side though it has perhaps gone
undetected until now, but I can't be sure.

I don't have time at this moment to look at it, but looking at the fuel
quantity as time goes on might help.  I wonder if FlightGear prevents fuel
from going to zero somehow?

I might have time around lunch to look at it.
