Sounds simple and AFAIK we are already reading the elevator-pos from
all of the FDMs for instrument positioning but ...

The problem is that it is the elevator_trim that is being adjusted by the
autopilot ...

So my guess is that my 'turnbuckle' analogy below is what is wanted
but this is a rather major, albeit relatively simple to implement, change
in the logic and am trying to make sure that this is what is wanted.
