Those are points which aren't supported in ac3d.  There are two options.  One
is to make the light out of really big polys.  Trade off stupid looking for
visibility.  AC3D does have line objects which have some similar properties to
the points, so another alternative would be to make a knot of lines to use for
a beacon.  Probably a couple good size triangle lines at 90 degrees to each
other would be enough.
