Is there any "guide" to creating scenery models for FlightGear?

What is the max recommended texture size?
I'm using 128x128 pixels (without alpha channel/mask) which means 100 unique 
models in a single scene would use less than 5 MB of video memory.

Is each model unit equal to one meter in FG?
