Yes, I do.  It's not often that I use the reset (I have it mapped to the 
'safed' button on the top of my Saitek X45:

but it does just as you say.  If you switch to an external view *really fast* 
after resetting, you can see the plane tumbling down in a short fall; I have 
the impression that it starts with the nose pointing vertically upwards, but 
I can't switch views *that* fast!
I'm using CVS checked out on March 20th - time for an update!
