Depends. One could argue that an area-less or one-pixel sized UV "face" can
only be useful for setting a solid color/transparency, something that can
also be done with a MATERIAL entry. But sometimes it is desirable to let a
texture determine the color, because this can then easily get repainted.
It doesn't increase the vertex/poly count, but add some textured faces.
I wouldn't be overly worried about that.
