Acctually I shouldn't be using any advanced or fancy point lightning effects unless they come turned "on" in the default preferences in the cvs. Funny thing is: why is the driver crashing only in the bay area scenery? I don't seem to have any night flying problems with the other area I use (w070n10). Could it be an object? I will try removing 3D objects around the bay area scenery and will also try going back to freeglut 2.2 and let you know.
