Well, maybe I was a bit too explicit in my comments but one-liner (or other trivial) patches should not be a problem, it's easy to detect problems in the CVS log messages for those.
I was referring to patches that would affect multiple files and/or multiple subsystems that would possibly introduce problems that aren't easy to detect.
