This is a real pity.
It means that if people model an area nicely and new users come along they 
won't know about it since they may never even subscribe the the mailing lists 
let alone happen to be around then the announcement is made.

This is why other flight simulators do so well - they include a lot "in the 
box" without the need to hunt all over the web for addons that you don't even 
know exist.

How popular would the San Francisco scenery be if all it contained was the 
default generated airports and terrain?
If we can do it for San Francisco then surely we can do it for other areas 
too?
If not then why not?
