You mean the aircraft carrier isn't the center piece of FG?!  :)

I find the carrier one of the most attractive features about FG and the one 
that keeps me coming back. It's one of the few things that FG models really 
well and beats other non-combat flight sims hands down.

FWIW :
Arrestor wires aren't even modeled in FS2004 and you have to load all sorts of 
tricky addons and special aircraft that have been hacked to work.
IIRC in FS2004 (with all the arrestor wire addons) they just stick an 
imaginary spoiler the size of Texas into the aircraft FDM and trigger it when 
you get real close to the wires. Nasty stuff.
