Thanks for writing down your impressions. I like your conclusions because I think mine would come out very similar :-) For many years I've been spending much of my spare time by working on a project for a computer controlled model aircraft - but in 'real' flying I don't really like these 'gadgets'. At our flight school we had one brand new Cherokee equipped with GNS430 and another one with an old-style VOR reciever, ADF and a HSI attached to the ILS - and I've almost always chosen the latter.
