That's funny - I tried the beech99 for the first time in literally years the 
other night and noticed how tired the model was (no animations etc).  Pity, 
because the panel is actually really nice, if only 2d.  You might like to try 
and animate the external surfaces as a learning exercise; you can get help or 
tips on that on IRC channel.  The model-howto.html and existing aircraft 
configurations are the best documentation that currently exists - you might 
find some helpful stuff on the wiki too.

It certainly is, yes - indeed we need this at least as much as people making 
new planes.  First you should try emailing any author listed (if you can find 
an email address), if no response then just go ahead and post your work here.

I'm currently working on redoing the Sopwith Camel, but there are quite a few 
aircraft that could use some attention.
