It's possible that I misinterpreted, and maybe Mathias would like to
clarify. But FWIW I thought he was pretty unambiguous:

: I would like to restrict that a bit. For bugfixes and non
: developers this might be a good idea. But please do not develop new
: features on the branch. [...] I will port changes that are checked
: in to the branch to HEAD as long as these are only bugfixes.

And, as I've said, I find this attitude unfair and counterproductive.
And I'm clearly not alone. It's just not acceptable to break things
and refuse to allow folks to see the fixes on their (working!) branch.
Sure, "someone" could do it if they wanted. But hiding behind
"collaboration" seems unfair to me, as if you guys are saying "You
want it to work? Fix it yourself." The content developers didn't
break it.

Look, this whole argument will go away if OSG starts working for
everyone. If you want the complaints to stop, then get it fixed. If
it's not, I can guarantee they're only going to get worse over time.

I'll just say it: the OSG port is, as of today, an unmitigated
disaster that should *never* have been applied to CVS in the state it
is in. Apologies in advance if that offends someone.

Andy
