I do not want FG to go the shared lib route. I have shown that it works
for me, but that is all.

I want to suggest that one FG build tree should be able to build three
statically linked executables.

Sure, dynamic linking could save a few more MB, but the point here is
saving developer time and hassle, and that can be achieved with static
linking.
