just for all those reading along I want to approve that your above hint
works for me.

Starting from the "bin" directory I tested with your modified line
./fgfs `./metar -e 6 -c "EDDW 022250Z 06055KT 0500 +RA FEW020 BKN032
10/09 Q1010 NOSIG"` "--fg-scenery= ... and a lot more

I got the values in FlightGear.
