Someone has to feel responsible for managing this site, ensuring that
the liveries are consistent with the corresponding aircraft either from
CVS, from the official aircraft download page or from both sources.

According to my personal experience with getting "administrative
workflows" introduced into the FlightGear project I'm uncertain wether
such an attempt is going to pass along without major difficulties.
Simply check the size of the different aircraft directories and compare
that to the size of the livery package as proposed by Gijs - I doubt
that the required overhead is worth the trouble.

The CVS (or whichever) repository serves well as an 'authoritative'
home for add-ons like these liveries - because users will complain
early when things break. Once you start spreading these add-ons over
too many different places, you're going to face what I'd call a
maintenance hell because everyone is going to create his private
spin-off .... Just look how fast this "UnitedFreeWorld" site turned
into a site where people drop their garbage - and forget about it.

Cheers,
        Martin.
