I can only agree with you here, Curt. Everyone who has worked with GIS data 
knows that it can become very complex and time consuming to process. That we 
get scenery, now even from more complex data (although with errors and 
artefacts at some places) can be considered as a miracle, given the amount 
of development time TG receives, compared to FG/SG. I also have to say that 
the sourcecode of TG is nicely documented (i'm a complete noob when it comes 
to C/C++ programming) and yet I somehow can follow the logic in the code. 
That's why I'd like do dive deeper into the airport code and see if I can do 
something there.

Building a frontend (Qt-based) as Gijs did, is a nice endeavour, but I hope 
the backend will not be forgotten and the audience will not have too 
elevated expectations.
