The new file structure is now in place. Note that the file format itself has not changed, so it should be fairly easy to incorporate your changes. Have a look at Materials/default/materials.xml to see how the shared information is included from the base directory. Hopefully it should make your materials.xml smaller (materials-dds.xml was reduced by 50% in size).
