When balancing different arguments I'd recommend to consider this one
as well: Backing out a kludge after it's been adopted by the users,
detangling additional hacks which start building on top of the
mentioned kludge is highly ungrateful work most of the time.

Thus, by pushing a kludge into FG or any other collaborative work, you
(or whoever would do it) are also multiplying the effort which is
required to later install a 'clean' solution.  That's not very nice,
because most of the time those who've been responsible for the
additional work usually are not the ones who participate in the
cleanup.
