"Old scenery" is the official FG scenery, as currently shipped with the
official releases and Terrasync.
So this tool is meant to work with the official scenery and infrastructure
(Terrasync), used by most of
FG users and newbies.
This tool is not meant to deal with terrain generation problems. And I don't
think we can afford to
maintain n objects databases, n being the number of "custom sceneries",
sometimes needing a specific
elevation.
As far as I understand, you cannot use the hundreds of new objects positions
shipped with Terrasync
when using custom scenery, can you? Or they might be floating or be sunk
over/into the terrain.
Custom sceneries are - for me - an overview of what FG can do for its scenery.
If you want to use it,
do it, but you have to acknowledge this is not official scenery and therefore
cannot easily benefit of
the core infrastructure.
The problem of the worldwide 850/Corine/OSM/etc scenery generation is another
point, and out of
my current knowledge. But if you are able to generate a worldwide
850/Corine/OSM scenery, and
that we're able to ship it with Terrasync, then I think you're most welcome to
do so, and then this tool
could be applied to it as well.
Olivier
