I've put a patch in CVS that uses NASAL to move the flaps. While I'm not sure this will solve your problem, at least it will allow users using this joystick to move the flaps to an arbitrary number of settings.


right brakes--parameters that are defined in
extreme-3d-pro.xml--aren't working.  Button 1, defined

It almost sounds like the number of recognized buttons is lower than the number of actual buttons present on the stick.

Since I don't have a good idea what other nifty functions to assign to joystick, at this time, I would simply like to believe that the stick is fully functional in FG. Lowering and raising flaps with keyboard is still an option. But eventually I'd like to trim elevator, apply thrust reverse, and other advanced functions with the joystick, right?

If you feel brave you might want to take a look at the Saitek/X45.xml. It is a highly programmable configuration hat has been copied to several other joysticks now.
