OK, we now have fgfs successfully driving the moving map display of gpsdrive.
it's a bit Heath Robinson, but it works. I have launched ttypatch to link pseudo serial port /dev/ttyp0 to /dev/ttyp1 (the default config for it) fgfs is writing nmea stuff to /dev/ttyp0 using the following statement: --nmea=serial,out,5,/dev/ttyp0,4800 I have given up on directly reading the serial port /dev/ttyp1 using gpsdrive, so I've enlisted the aid of another program, gpsd, to do the translation between them. gpsd has been launched with [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ gpsd -p /dev/ttyp1 I launched xgps (the test prog that came with gpsd) to confirm that fgfs actually was communicating properly... yes. I then launched gpsdrive and told it to ignore the serial port and to communicate with gpsd. voila... it works... gpsdrive is now functioning as a moving map showing the position and heading of the aircraft in fgfs now time for a good cup of hot chocolate and to put my feet up tomorrow evening is the time to write this up as a mini Howto for you folks to benefit from ;) _______________________________________________ Flightgear-users mailing list [email protected] http://mail.flightgear.org/mailman/listinfo/flightgear-users 2f585eeea02e2c79d7b1d8c4963bae2d
