I'm trying to simulate being a gps so that I can drive GPSDrive using flightgear.
I've got this statement in my launch thingy (using fgrun) --nmea=socket,out,5,localhost,2497,tcp and I'm getting this error in the log window Error: connect() failed in make_client_socket() SG_IO_OUT socket creation failed Error opening channel communication layer. I/O Channel config failed. has anyone actually suceeded in pretending to be a gpsd deamon to drive GPSDrive, as GPSDrive can only receive via gpsd or the actual hardware What I'm trying to do, is firstly get GPSDrive driven by fgfs, and secondly, when that works, to import scanned terminal area charts to use GPSDrive as a moving map rather like the windows package FSM MovingMap can use prescanned charts. This is the bit from the readme for Matt Fox's us-tacad.zip package "This set of textures have been designed to work with FSM Moving Map by Rana Hossain (http://www.ranainside.com/software_flightsim_movingmap.html). They should also be easy to set up for other moving map programs.
