Hi Guys A lot of water has flowed under the bridge since I made the panel for the 737.But a quick check shows me that the autopilot panel works sort of. The following instruction relates to the 9.8 version of FG if you are using any other version eg: CVS then all bets are off.
First up NO the ADF does not work because there is no guage for it on the panel. You can tune the stations on the radio panel down in the lefthand bottom corner of the panel.By and large the ADF guage was not modeled because I would not think that it would get used except in a total emergency. They probably dont use the vor that much anymore. To get the autopilot to work, sort of, you need to click on the CMD A switch on the autopilot panel. You may need to move the panel to the left using Shift F3 or F4 to see this switch. To disconect hit the DISENGAUGE bar. When you click on the switch two yellow dots should show. You now need to click the approach switch APP on and off again. This is one of quite a few bugs that are now in this autopilot. After doing this you should be able to select other selections such as vor/loc and app and althld although this works more like a altitude select. The autothrottle stuff as far as I know does not work. Now for the radio panel ,lower l/h corner, to use this you need to click on the buttons beside the freq's the upper button of each set changes the active and standby freq's and the lower of the two changes the freq of the standby reciever. To get the DME to show on the HSI you need to click the DME button next to the big knob on the radio panel.Unfortunately this shows the DME for VOR2.Not very good I know but I am working on a new 737 for sometime in the new year in which I hope a lot of these problems will be fixed. If you have any other questions fire away but I can't say I will know the answer.:-) Cheers Innis Mike Rawlins writes

Along these lines, I was thinking recently that 737 flights would be much more realistic with a functioning course, altitude and speed holds (ie. autopilot) set from the top of instrument panel. I find it quite a challenge to hold altitude and speed to tight tolerences while changing the radio, deploying flaps, looking at my approach plate, etc. And given the new vertical separation limits I believe manual flight is becoming less common these days in IFR conditions. Is updating the AP in this way possible? Cheers, Mike __________________________________ Yahoo!
