Hello:

Having followed the instructions to “burn” Knoppix on to a CD, as ISO, it has been successful!!!

All 3 laptops were selected to search the CD-ROM first of all, including the main PC.

The lap top that I was hoping to run Knoppix on, the Toshiba with the Trident Graphics card, I find the following: The screen is too dark to identify what is on the screen.

The PC boots and runs through its sequence. At the end there is a white box stating, “It is out of range”! But what is out of range.

One of the Amilio’s does not recognise the CD to boot from.

The other CD is that I see Linux/Knoppix running it all its glory, as it is the first time that I have seen Linux! Having studied the layout, I found, eventually, the FlightGear folder with “cogs” as icons. The question is, how do you launch it? The executable files are there, but trying every normal method to launch does not do anything. Is there another way for launching on Linux?

Your comments on my findings would be appreciated

Thank you.

Martin
