Hello Arnt:

As mentioned earlier it does not accept 'knoppix Xmodule=radeon'.

I thought that standard PC and laptops ran on 32bit, thanks to Mr Gates?

It is still not possible to get at or change the password for the clock etc!

The communication problem with 'kate /home/knoppix/fg' still exists, so no
luck there.

I used 'dpkg -L abs-guide' and it stated that it was not installed.

Thank you

Martin

..reboot trying " knoppix Xmodule=radeon " and redo the slave work.

..any of you guys recognise this above ATI hardware? Is it all 64bit or
can it be made at least limping, coughing etc into life on 32bit code?

..the file named /home/knoppix/fg, _if_ it exists.
Otherwise you see what you saw. ;o)

..shit like this happens, if it happens again and again, it might be a
bug, kate is usually a nice and cute well behaved editor.

..it isn't, it is installed into the UNIONfs, chk " dpkg -L abs-guide ".

..easiest PHB-safe way is put it on an usb key or a floppy disk, pick
the penguin "Knoppix" menu button, then "Configure" -> "Create a
persistent KNOPPIX disk image" and then "Save KNOPPIX confiuration".
