98se is nice but wont handle the options you are looking for. 512Mb is the largest ram size it will handle...and any HD over 120Gb is not going to be used (at least not all of it as far as I can remember...).

You might want to look at buying an "off the shelf" PC....many companies are offering great prices for complete systems (AMD being the cheaper option thee days and still very comparable against the P4 series...), and most include monitors (17" LCD last I checked...).

Try places online like Ascent Technologies (in Manners Street, Wellington...), GlobalPC etc. All come with Win XP home (not really that bad as some people might suggest...), but also might include onboard video cards (will need upgrading if that's the case....).

All good questions... I hadn't really considered those sort of limitations... might have to include XP into the savings plan.
