Sign readability is always a struggle in simulators. If you make signs the proper size, they tend to become unreadable until you are right on top of them. If you make the signs readable from a distance, they tend to get grossly oversized. Increasing your screen resolution helps, but that gets really expensive really quick.

I would vote for trying to keep the signs sized realistically and tell people they should by a 10240 x 7680 resolution monitor if they want to read them. :-)
