Hi Dene,

Figured I'd take this off the list.

Well, yes, I may have a look at the existing ferryboat
model and try and modify it. I go to work on one of
these every day:

There are actually three ships, Falcon, Osprey and
Eagle. The later photographs show the ship after
modification (lengthened + additional car deck).

They look as though they migght me more closed water ships...or at least smaller.... I'm not familiar with the waters around the Isle of Wight.... I think from memory the InterIslanders take about 1600 passengers and 600 cars.

And it would be nice to make a model of that one,
along with the other Isle of Wight ferries and
hovercraft - I wonder if we could have hovercraft
spray? :-) - and I could maybe input the timetables.

Time tables would be difficult. Scenario/flightplans work on velocities between 2 points.... our ferries take about 3 hours each leg and who really spends 3 hours on FGFS in the same area to be able to check timetables?... the other point of course is that they are eye-candy...not to be used to synchronise clocks... :-)

I have been spectacularly lazy when it comes to
installing anything but the base system so far. I have
no experience of installing any additional aircraft or
scenery, and I've not tried Blender. I think I should
take the existing ferry boat model and a copy of
Blender with me on my next cruise and learn to use it,
and then try and get one of the Red Funnel ferries
built... Gosh, I'll have to think about populating it
with cars and trucks too... I wonder if the radars
turn around on the ferries...

if you build a model..i'll make the radars turn..no problem mate... you put night illumination in the places you want it and i'll make it light at night.

So in answer to your question, although, I've been
looking at all the fantastic screenshots you've put
out, as well as the photos of the real area, I've not
had a bash at using your scenery yet.......

if you need a hand at installing scenery...give me a yell..

I downloaded and installed the scenery to fly from Heathrow to northern Europe... no offence but .....the terrain is boring!!!... the scenery objects are nice though :-)

......... Interestingly my
ex (who is in fact German) lives and works in
Wellington (for NIWA), so maybe I will get around to
it sometime!

TTFN!

Paul
