For an early version the Su-26M is very nice. I just spent about a half hour
doing low level aerobatics over KSFO. One nice touch that is missing in most
of the other aircraft I have tried in FG is that the wind sound actually
changes with the airspeed. When I was learning to fly one of the things my
instructor drilled into me was to listen to the wind sound to help with
speed/altitude control. That way if the wind sound is not changing you know
your airspeed is also not changing and you can use your eyes for things other
than checking your airspeed.

One of the cool things about this aircraft is that it flies inverted very
nicely and also has nice knife edge flight (just go easy on the rudder at the
start of the maneuver). It also does nice snap rolls but watch your airspeed
as this bleeds off very quickly when you snap this baby. Also be really
careful with the brakes on landing or you WILL be doing a ground loop.

There are some FDM files father down in the thread about the Su-26M but I was
not able to get it to work with the updated Su-26M.xml file. When I did the
update it would not taxi. Did anyone else have this kind of problem?

In any case a very nice initial effort and I look forward to new updates to
this model.

Hal
