I am attempting to build the FlightGear package under Cygwin. I deleted an
old installation of Cygwin and reloaded with fresh downloads, following the
GetStart.pdf document. Some of the packages have changed somewhat, but I
think that I have a decent installation. There was nothing specifically
called out for the XFree86 package, so I'm not sure if it snuck in under the
radar.

I've compiled and installed ZLIB, PLIB, and I think OpenAL without any
problems, but when I go do the "./configure" for the SimGear stuff, it fails
with a message saying that

You *must* have the openal package installed on your system to build
SimGear.

It also suggests that I check the README.OpenAL file, which isn't there.

So, it is likely that I have an extra package, like XFree86 or something
else that is hosing me, or is it some special option for compiling OpenAL
that installs it someplace else? How can I tell?

Thanks,
Bill
