Hi Bill,

Just a quick question: Which version of SimGear are you trying to build? 
If I recall correctly, openal now builds correctly under cygwin, and 
SimGear builders should be able to use that version. A while ago, I 
committed a patch that enabled the detection of a locally compiled 
openal lib. This patch is not a released version of SimGear yet. So if 
you're building the release version, it's to be expected that SimGear 
doesn't recognize a locally build version of openal. If you're building 
a recent CVS version, however, it should work, and if it doesn't I'd be 
interested to know about the whereabouts.
