Hi there, I installed a DEM import script for Blender a few days ago. It takes SRTM30 hgt files and imports those as a mesh into Blender. I took some hgt data today, and some satellite photos, combined them, and here is the result...
http://users.tpg.com.au/blobster/concept.jpg Thats an AC3D model sitting under my Brisbane CBD building models. The impact on framerate is minimal. A few points on the mesh need adjusting, but its a not bad result for an hours playing. Some on this list will be getting annoyed with my little gripes about the scenery tools being too hard to get working. The method of creating AC3D models to replace the default terrain I've found to be incredibly easy. Would others on this list have any comments good or bad about this as a method of creating scenery improvements? Kind regards, Chris Wilkinson, Brisbane, Australia. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys. Earn Cash.
