Noooo, they should be updated! And since you have investigated the current
state of affairs - would you mind volunteering to do this? :)

Many people seem to track OSG SVN and I think the main FlightGear OSG 
developer mentioned he is using OSG SVN in an e-mail to the devel list 
recently.

If your main interest is flying rather than developing you could also 
consider using the PLIB branch of FG CVS which supports some eye candy 
not yet ported to OSG. You'll find the build instructions in the wiki.
