I downloaded and installed the Windows version of FlightGear 0.9.10 and installed on a Windows 2000 machine with a Pentium III 550mhz pc with and ASUS P3B-F MB, 1gb memory, 100mhz bus and an Asus A9200 Series AGP card (ATI Radeon 9200) and 1 SCSI and 1 IDE disk Drive (Primary drive).
When I run FlightGear and it goes through all the loading and my plane is finally setting on the runway I have two problems - 1) When the plane is finally sitting on the end of the Runway it is not sitting - it is moving - usually to the left and the rpm's on the engine are almost at take off speed already. See # 2 as well since due to delayed responses attempting to stop the plane on the end of the runway is fruitless. 2) Frame rate and response is horrible - keyboard presses take forever, Joystick movement vs display response is way out of sync. Movement seems jerky and is particularly so due to the delayed response to any keys or mouse or joystick movement. Is the above machine just not enough to run FlightGear or is there some configuration or hardware issue. Dxdiag and a program called glview seem to run their tests just fine so I know OpenGL and DirectX are funtioning although I also know there are some unsupported parts. Any thoughts. bk ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
