Sweet - that brought performance up to a nice level - smooth flying and
display. Still have the open throttle and spin to the left but.... I now get
a fast enough response from the keyboard I can control it. I did find
FlightGear hadn't recognised my joystick properly even though I had tweaked the
Joystick files like I thought I should but I missed one line (the name line).
Joystick recognized and working well now using the Cyborg-Evo.xml.

I wonder if the high throttle and spin to the left in FlightGear could have
something to do with the Joystick. It is a Saitek Cyborg Evo Force and I have
noticed that every time I go into Control Panel to calibrate, it always shows
half throttle. Once I operate the slide then the throttle in Control panel
looks like it should - from zero to full. I wonder if every time I go into
FlightGear if it is seeing this same half throttle - once I reduce it by
keyboard then the slide on the joystick and throttle performance is as you
would expect. I'll keep digging but if anyone else has ideas on the speed
problem would appreciate.

Thanks for the fps help though - much obliged.
