Hi!

Me too likes to thank the FG developers - really an impressive
piece of software! A friend of mine frequently flying with
a Cessna 172 tried it out and said that the flight dynamics
are pretty realistic!
BTW.: i also purchased X-Plane, but it can't properly handle
three displays in a 3840x1024 xinerama setup whereas FlighGears
performs really nicely - see screen shot attached, airport=ednb,
shrunken to 720x192 with reduced quality in order to fit the
40 KByte mailing list limit. (btw.: the triangles on the
horizon as seen in the screen shot do only show up while
selecting menus with the mouse, so it's not an issue for me,
but i certainly don't mind if a developer would look into it :-)

So now my actual question (however, i'm not sure if it's a
user or developer question):

Does there exist any helpfull documentation or examples for
the FG native protocol, i.e. definition of data structures
passed or maybe even source code examples on how to connect
to FG in order to pull data like air speed, altitude, etc.?

Background: i'd like to attach several analog multimeters
to the parallel port (driven by pulse width modulation) so
that i can sort of emulate some instruments physically :-)

Any feedback is highly appreciated!

regards

Bernhard
